Position Summary: General Foreman
We’re currently seeking General Foremen to lead on-site teams across a variety of upcoming projects. In this role, you’ll be responsible for supervising and coordinating field crews, ensuring that work is executed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. You’ll report to the Project Superintendent and/or Project Manager and serve as a key leader in the daily operations of your assigned site.
We’re hiring for multiple projects — schedules and per diem availability vary by assignment. We welcome travelers to apply.
Key Responsibilities
- Support and enforce all health, safety, and environmental policies across the job site
- Lead daily safety briefings, perform routine inspections, and conduct incident investigations when needed
- Coordinate crew tasks, distribute daily work assignments, and ensure all activities align with quality and safety requirements
- Oversee and maintain proper care of tools, equipment, and technical manuals
- Develop and communicate daily work plans and goals with crews
- Offer recommendations for process improvements and cost-efficiencies related to labor, timelines, and materials
- Track material use, receive deliveries, and report inventory updates
- Monitor crew performance, time tracking, and material consumption
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing feedback to team members
- Mentor and guide crew members, fostering a culture of accountability and growth
- Assist with subcontractor oversight and coordination
- Identify promising talent within the crew and support their professional development in collaboration with the Superintendent
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of construction or industrial field experience
- At least 18 months of experience as a General Foreman or in a similar leadership role
- Valid driver’s license with a clean record
- Ability to meet Hexanebar’s safety, conduct, and compliance requirements
- Must pass pre-employment screenings including a physical, drug/alcohol test (DOT or non-DOT), and background check
Core Skills
- Clear verbal and written communication skills in English
- Strong ability to interpret technical drawings and construction specifications
- Competent in basic math and measurement techniques
- Proficient with Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Comfortable using digital platforms and construction technology
Physical Demands
- Must be able to stoop, kneel, crawl, climb, and work in both high and confined spaces (e.g., towers, scaffolds, tanks, trenches)
- Capable of lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs. unassisted
- Must be willing and able to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
