We’re currently hiring experienced Combination Pipe Welders for our PICCo project at CP Chem in Orange, Texas.
- Pay Rate: $38.00/hr (straight time), $57.00/hr (overtime)
- Per Diem: $95.00/day worked (eligibility required)
- Requirements: Must pass DISA drug screen and background check
About the Role: What You’ll Be Doing
As a Combo Pipe Welder, you’ll play a critical role in delivering precise, high-quality welds on a variety of industrial piping systems. Your contribution ensures safety, reliability, and performance on one of our key projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform welding on piping systems using various techniques and welding positions (2G, 5G, 6G, etc.)
- Follow detailed weld procedures and apply applicable welding codes
- Cut and bevel pipe using torches and mechanical equipment
- Properly preheat materials as needed before welding or cutting
- Interpret and work from blueprints, weld maps, and project drawings
- Align, fit, and install piping systems with attention to level, plumb, and structural integrity
- Ensure all welds meet project specifications and pass inspections
- Maintain accountability for quality, safety, and proper use of tools and materials
- Collaborate with supervisors and other trades to maintain smooth workflow
- Successfully pass all required skills and welding assessments for the role
What You Bring to the Team
- 4+ years of relevant experience as a combo pipe welder in industrial settings (such as petrochemical, power generation, or cement plants)
- Solid understanding of welding practices, metallurgy, heat transfer, expansion, and material tolerances
- Knowledge of pipefitting fundamentals and fabrication techniques
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to weld with multiple processes and in a variety of positions
- Familiarity with safe handling of equipment, preheating, and working within industrial safety standards
