What You’ll Be Doing: Your Role at a Glance
As a Project Engineer, you’ll play an essential part in ensuring our projects run smoothly from planning through completion. You’ll coordinate closely with both internal teams and trade partners to help deliver projects on time, on budget, and with the highest quality.
Your Key Responsibilities Will Include
- Managing select trade partner relationships and handling specific subcontractor tasks — including defining scope of work, addressing questions, and monitoring progress.
- Assisting in the change management process by pricing, tracking, and evaluating the impact of change orders on project budget and timeline.
- Overseeing documentation control — including RFI coordination, shop drawings, submittals, and maintaining updated as-built drawings.
- Supporting design oversight by tracking and responding to submittals in alignment with project schedules.
- Reviewing trade partner submittals for completeness and compliance before passing to the design team.
- Collaborating with the Project Manager and Superintendent to report on performance regarding site safety, cost, schedule, and quality control.
- Assisting with the preparation of progress estimates, cost claims, and procurement tracking.
- Managing material and equipment tracking, including order expediting and on-site inventory.
- Supporting design and authority inspections to resolve constructability and code compliance issues.
- Participating in project closeout tasks, including archiving documents, preparing maintenance and warranty materials, and addressing outstanding deficiencies.
What We’re Looking For: Qualifications & Experience
- 1–3 years of hands-on experience in construction or a related operational role is preferred
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, architecture, or related discipline — or equivalent practical experience
- Familiarity with construction processes, techniques, equipment, safety practices, and project documentation
- Strong problem-solving skills with a basic grasp of engineering principles
- Organized and adaptable, with excellent planning and time management abilities
- Confident communicator — able to clearly convey information across teams and stakeholders
- Experience reading blueprints, understanding specifications, and coordinating contract documents
- Ability to develop project schedules and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and open to learning new tools and technologies
